Event managers are the managers who are responsible for planning, organizing, and promoting several business and social events says, George Portes. He further added that an event manager is also responsible for running a range of events that are totally based on the target audience. 

Being an event manager, a person has to organize conferences, seminars, and exhibitions, as well as he is also responsible for organizing parties and arrange several corporate trips.

Meet with clients in order to find out their exact event requirements

Produce detailed proposals for events 

Based on the client requirements he is also responsible for finding the venues, suppliers, and contractors.

Arrange a meeting with sales and marketing teams in order to publicize and promote the event

He is also responsible for managing all the planning that is needed for organizing an event

Supervising the whole staff who are the part of the event

Making proper arrangement for doing car parking, and first aid, and providing proper facilities to the media as well.


For becoming a professional event manager, a person must bear some skills that are needed for gaining perfection in any event, which includes:-

Good communication and interpersonal skills

A person must possess negotiation skills in terms of looking for the best price from venues, suppliers and contractors

Effective time-management skills 

A person must possess an ability to work under pressure and he is also responsible for ensuring the efficient running of an event

Must possess sales and marketing skills that are needed at the time of promoting an event

Must be flexible, target-driven, and bears a proactive approach
